Welcome to Mrs. Hayhurst's Page!

Hello! My name is Sophie Hayhurst and I am the Agricultural Science teacher and FFA Advisor at Sabinal High School. A little bit about me, I graduated from Texas A&M University with my Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science with a teaching option and my Master of Science in Agriculture with an emphasis in Adult Education from Texas A&M at Kingsville. I have been teaching for 3 years in the Tennessee agriculture classroom. This will be my first teaching year in the Texas agriculture classroom. However, I am familiar with Texas Agriculture as I served as the Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Service in Jim Hogg County before becoming an ag. teacher.

I have many pets including my dogs, Trigger, Sage and Jazz. As well as, I have 2 horses Rocky and Star. I enjoy trailing riding with my husband, cooking, and traveling the world. Just this past summer I spent 2 weeks in Budapest, Hungary.

I am very excited to begin teaching at Sabinal High School and look forward to teaching students about where their food comes from.
