Parents:
As most of you are aware, our Boys basketball team will be advancing to the State Regional Semi-finals playoff game this Friday, with tip-off at noon at the Austin ISD Delco Center. After careful consideration, we feel that it is in the District's best interests to cancel school on Friday since many of our employees and students will want to attend the game.
We have two "bad weather" days built into the school calendar, on April 2 & 5. After discussing the options with our principals, we feel that the best day to make-up school will be on Monday, April 5 (day after Easter) since we have TAKS testing for grades 5 & 8 on Tuesday, April 6.
We will provide a “spirit bus” for secondary students (grades 6-12), for this game. If you are interested in your student riding the spirit bus, please have them sign-up in the High School office, as soon as possible as seating is limited. Please remember to send with your student sufficient monies for their admission to the game, as well as meal money at the concessions provided at the gym.
These decisions are always tough, as it is difficult to make everyone happy. I appreciate your understanding if this change presents particular problems to you individually.
By the way, if we win Friday, we will play again for the Regional championship on Saturday, March 6, in the Austin ISD Delco Center.
Respectfully,
Richard W. Grill
Superintendent
