On Sunday, March 24, Sabinal High School senior Joseph Contreras played in the 1st San Antonio Sports inaugural All-Star Basketball game. Contreras, who stands six feet 11 inches, had one block and three rebounds during the game. Contreras is among 113 Greater San Antonio athletes chosen from private schools and 1A-6A schools to play on the Black Team or Gold Team. Contreras was selected to play on the Gold Team. The final score was 73-67, the Black Team. Head varsity basketball coach Rodger Clark says Contreras has made his community proud. “He has worked hard and deserves the honor.”
