Sabinal ISD is proposing a 2023-24 academic calendar which includes a shortened
day, by one hour, each Friday. This early release would allow our teachers an
additional hour each week to plan and adapt their lessons and units to the students
in their classes. It would also provide our teachers opportunities to have longer,
more meaningful conversations with their colleagues and/or administrators. The
early release would reduce absenteeism by allowing students to leave early to
attend all curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular events.
