Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
Sabinal ISD is proactively preparing for the inclement weather forecasted for this weekend. Possible freezing rain is expected on Friday and Saturday. At this time, we do not anticipate poor road conditions on Monday morning, and the current plan is to begin the school day at the regular time.
If conditions change or if facility or community utility issues arise, we will notify the community through School Messenger, Facebook, ClassDojo, and local news stations.
The district has experienced low attendance due to colds and flu, so it is important that we minimize any additional instructional time loss. Our teachers work extremely hard to prepare meaningful lessons, and each missed day can create learning gaps for students. While it is important for students to be present and learning, we will always prioritize safety first.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Factors that the district administration considers:
Precipitation
Water on the roads
Ice on the roads
Utilities - electricity, water, and gas at the school, town, and surrounding community
